Hufanga seals Broncos' 30-26 comeback win over Rams

The Denver Broncos beat the Los Angeles Rams 30-26 on Sunday night, with Talanoa Hufanga intercepting Matthew Stafford on the final play to secure a comeback victory. According to NBC Sports' report, carried by Yahoo Sports, Denver improved to 2-1 while Los Angeles dropped to 1-2 after a game decided in its final seconds.

The Rams had controlled the first half and reached the interval with a 16-0 advantage, BBC Sport reported. Denver erased that deficit during the third quarter, bringing the teams level and setting up a closing stretch in which the lead changed hands three times in the final five minutes. Neither side could settle the contest before the last possession.

Hufanga delivered the first of his two decisive interventions by returning an interception 66 yards for a touchdown. Stafford answered quickly, finding Konata Mumpfield for a 48-yard scoring pass to put Los Angeles back ahead. According to the BBC's account, the Rams completed that response in just over a minute, leaving Denver needing another scoring drive.

Nix then finished Denver's reply by reaching into the end zone for the touchdown that restored the home team's advantage. That left Stafford 47 seconds to respond. He moved the Rams into position for one final attempt, but his throw from Denver's 19-yard line with two seconds remaining ended in Hufanga's second interception, BBC Sport reported.

NBC Sports reported that Nix completed 17 of 34 passes for 186 yards, with two touchdown passes and one interception, alongside his winning rushing score. J.K. Dobbins gained 49 rushing yards on 17 attempts. Those figures accompanied a Denver win in which Hufanga supplied both a defensive touchdown and the stop that ended Los Angeles' final chance.

Denver's winning drive also included a defensive pass-interference penalty against Rams cornerback Josh Wallace, according to NBC Sports. Wallace had caught a Nix pass intended for Pat Bryant, but the flag instead gave Denver a first down. NBC rules analyst Terry McAulay questioned the call after reviewing the play. The Broncos went on to finish the drive with Nix's touchdown.
