Hokit Derails Blaydes, Books Title-Eliminator Against Lewis at UFC Freedom 250
Josh Hokit extended his perfect professional record to 9-0 with a statement victory over Curtis Blaydes, immediately securing a heavyweight title-eliminator against Derrick Lewis at the White House in June.

The UFC heavyweight division just found its next headline act. Josh Hokit walked out of UFC 327 with a career-altering win and, within minutes, had his next fight locked in.

Hokit defeated Curtis Blaydes on Saturday night in a bout that had the MMA world watching closely. The 28-year-old Californian needed medical attention following the win and was not present at the post-fight press conference, but his performance did the talking for him. The victory pushed his unblemished record to 9-0, with three wins now inside the UFC octagon.

In the immediate aftermath, UFC CEO Dana White confirmed what fans had been hoping for: Hokit would face Derrick Lewis in a fight that could determine the next challenger for the heavyweight crown. The bout has been added to UFC Freedom 250, scheduled for June 14 at the White House in Washington, D.C. President Donald Trump attended Saturday night's UFC 327 event in Miami, where the announcement was made.

Lewis, a longtime fan favorite known equally for his devastating knockout power and his colorful personality, enters this fight on the back of a setback. He was defeated by Waldo Cortes-Acosta in January, ending a two-fight winning streak. The Louisiana-born heavyweight carries a professional record of 29-13, with a 3-3 record across his last six appearances. Despite the recent defeat, his finishing ability makes him a dangerous opponent for anyone in the division.

The UFC Freedom 250 card is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated events of the summer. Headlining the evening will be two championship bouts: Ilia Topuria defending his lightweight title against Justin Gaethje, and Alex Pereira battling Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight strap. Supporting attractions include Sean O'Malley against Aiemann Zahabi, Kyle Daukaus versus Bo Nickal, Michael Chandler against Mauricio Ruffy, and Steve Garcia squaring off with Diego Lopes.

For Hokit, this represents the biggest stage of his young career. A win over Lewis would almost certainly earn him a shot at the heavyweight title, completing a remarkable rise from his Dana White's Contender Series victory in 2025 to championship contention in just over a year.
