Higgins and Murphy level at 4-4, Wu leads Allen in World Championship semi-finals

John Higgins demonstrated his battling qualities to share the spoils at 4-4 with Shaun Murphy after the opening session of their World Championship semi-final at the Crucible Theatre.

The veteran Scottish cueman showed determination to claw his way back into the match after Murphy had initially taken the upper hand in the contest. Both players remain in contention heading into the remaining sessions as they compete for a place in the final.

In the other semi-final underway at the tournament, Wu holds the lead over Mark Allen as that match gets underway. The Northern Irishman will be looking to overturn the deficit in his semi-final tie. The World Championship continues at its traditional venue in Sheffield.
