Hibernian beat Aberdeen 4-0 to climb above hosts in Premiership
Hibernian moved above Aberdeen on goal difference with a 4-0 victory at Pittodrie. Stephen Robinson called the performance and result unacceptable.

Hibernian beat Aberdeen 4-0 at Pittodrie on Saturday to climb above their hosts into 10th place in the Scottish Premiership. Jamie McGrath, Callum Wright, Thibault Klidjé and Nicky Cadden scored as the visitors overturned a three-point gap in the table, moving ahead of Aberdeen on goal difference before the international break.

Watch the highlights:

According to the Press Association report published by the Guardian, Aberdeen had opportunities to take control early on. Hibernian goalkeeper Raphael Sallinger denied Jack Milne, who also struck the crossbar. McGrath then scored from 25 yards, leaving the home side chasing the game despite those promising moments in front of goal.

Aberdeen committed themselves to finding an equaliser but instead conceded again through Wright. That second goal prompted calls from sections of the home support for manager Stephen Robinson to go. Hibernian went on to turn the result into a comprehensive away victory, with Klidjé and Cadden adding further goals during a dominant second-half performance.

Robinson described both the performance and the result as unacceptable, while acknowledging that Aberdeen had received the outcome their display deserved. He contrasted his side's missed opportunities with Hibernian's finishing, saying the visitors converted four of five or six chances. His assessment left little room for blaming the scoreline solely on the early chances Aberdeen failed to take.

The Aberdeen manager said he intended to keep fighting unless told otherwise and stressed that the players needed to improve. He characterised the situation as difficult for himself, the squad and the club. The defeat sends Aberdeen into the international pause below the opponents who had arrived at Pittodrie three points behind them, with Robinson facing vocal dissatisfaction from the stands.

Elsewhere in the Premiership, Dundee United drew 1-1 with Motherwell after Jesse Randall cancelled out Lukas Fadinger's penalty. St Johnstone defeated Dundee 2-1, with Kai Fotheringham scoring a deflected winner in the 72nd minute on his first Premiership start for the club. Josh Campbell had put St Johnstone ahead before substitute Joe Westley equalised early in the second half.
