Derek McInnes expressed his disappointment following the match, stating: "Absolutely two points dropped. We lost two really poor goals. We came here with a lot of motivation, the fans turned up and I thought we looked ready for that, but we were guilty of giving up that control and authority."

Hearts appeared to be cruising toward a crucial victory when Lawrence Shankland and Claudio Braga overturned Stevie May's early opener. However, Livingston's Lewis Smith struck the equalizer that left 7,000 traveling supporters frustrated.
