'Arguably Our Hardest Game' - Hearts Boss McInnes Braces for intense Edinburgh Derby Against Hibs

Hearts manager Tommy McInnes has warned his players that Sunday's Edinburgh Derby against Hibernian represents 'arguably our hardest game' of the season as the club looks to maintain their position at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

The Jambos currently sit three points clear at the summit following their remarkable title challenge this season, but McInnes knows that facing their city rivals provides its own unique challenges regardless of league positions.

'This is arguably our hardest game of the season,' McInnes said at his pre-match press conference. 'Derbies are different - form goes out the window, records mean nothing. Hibs will come to Tynecastle with everything to play for and we need to be ready for that intensity.'

Hearts secured the Scottish Premiership title earlier this month, ending Celtic and Rangers' dominance over Scottish football. The victory sparked celebrations across Edinburgh and McInnes has been keen to ensure his squad remains focused on the remaining fixtures.

Hibs, meanwhile, have enjoyed a solid season themselves and will be desperate to derail their rivals' momentum with a victory at Tynecastle. The Edinburgh Derby traditionally produces intense, high-energy encounters with little between the sides historically.

McInnes added: 'We've worked hard all season to get where we are, but this game means more to our fans than anything else. We owe them another performance that reflects what this club represents.'
