Hammarby beat Rangers 3-0 to seal Europa Cup progress
Hammarby won 3-0 at Broadwood Stadium to eliminate Rangers 5-0 on aggregate. The result ended Scottish involvement in the Europa Cup after Hearts also went out.

Hammarby knocked Rangers out of the Europa Cup with a 3-0 victory at Broadwood Stadium, completing a 5-0 aggregate win. According to BBC Sport Scotland's match report, Anna Walter, Ida Hermannsdottir and Fanny Peterson scored for the Swedish visitors, who reached the final of the competition last season. Rangers were unable to score in either leg of the tie.

Watch the highlights:

The visitors arrived with a two-goal advantage and increased it after just 13 minutes. Defender Mathilde Janzen supplied the pass for Walter, who finished beyond goalkeeper Jenna Fife to put Hammarby ahead on the night. That early breakthrough left Rangers needing three goals simply to draw level across the two matches, with most of the second leg still to play.

Rangers' first threatening moment came in the 21st minute, when Laura Berry directed a shot at Hammarby goalkeeper Cajsa Andersson. The visitors had opportunities to stretch their advantage before half-time, but Hermannsdottir and Elin Sorum failed to convert from close range. Those missed chances kept the score at 1-0 on the night heading into the interval.

Rangers, who lead the Scottish Women's Premier League, had possession without regularly turning it into attempts that troubled Andersson. BBC Sport reported that their next threat did not arrive until the 58th minute, when Berry again shot straight at the goalkeeper. Two minutes later, Hermannsdottir ran on to a through ball and scored Hammarby's second, taking the aggregate margin to four goals.

Peterson then completed the scoring. The 16-year-old midfielder reacted after Fife saved Svea Rehnberg's effort from close range, following up to add another goal to the one she had scored in the first leg. Her contribution meant she found the net in both matches as Hammarby advanced without conceding against Rangers.

The result also ended Scotland's participation in the second-tier European competition. Scottish champions Heart of Midlothian had already been eliminated by Real Sociedad earlier in the evening. Hammarby, runners-up in the Swedish league last season and second in the 2026 standings, progressed at the expense of a Rangers side whose domestic lead did not translate into a successful European comeback.
