Greaves Makes Historic PDC Ranking Title Breakthrough as First Woman to Win
Lisa Greaves becomes the first woman ever to win a PDC ranking title, breaking down barriers in professional darts and inspiring future generations of female players.

Lisa Greaves has made history by becoming the first woman to win a Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) ranking title, marking a watershed moment for the sport and women's participation in traditionally male-dominated games.

Watch the highlights:

The 34-year-old from Sheffield produced a stunning display at the Players Championship event in Barnsley, defeating world number 12 Danny Noppert 8-5 in the final. Greaves averaged 102.3 throughout the tournament, hitting 14 maximum 180s and converting 67% of her checkout attempts – statistics that would impress even the sport's elite male competitors.

"I've dreamed of this moment since I first picked up a dart," Greaves said in her post-match interview. "To all the young girls watching – this proves that with dedication and belief, the ceiling keeps rising. There is no limit to what we can achieve."

The PDC confirmed the historic nature of the achievement, with Chief Executive Matt Porter stating: "Lisa's performance has been exceptional. This result speaks for itself and demonstrates the growing standard of play across the board."

Greaves' journey to this point has been remarkable. A former schoolteacher, she only turned professional in 2022 after years of competing in amateur circuits. Her rise through the rankings has been steady but not spectacular – until now.

This victory propoves Greaves into the world top 40 and automatically qualifies her for the World Championship, where she will become the first woman to compete in the main draw since 2017. The achievement has sparked widespread praise across the darts community, with former world champions and fellow professionals hailing her breakthrough as a defining moment for the sport.
