Giants Draft Strategy Emerges Through Extensive Player Meeting Network
The New York Giants have conducted meetings with dozens of prospects across multiple positions, revealing potential draft priorities ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.

The New York Giants have cast a wide net in their 2026 NFL Draft preparations, conducting formal meetings with prospects across every major position group as they prepare to make crucial selections that could reshape their roster. Through combine interviews, pro day visits, and formal team meetings, the Giants have evaluated talent ranging from potential first-round picks to developmental prospects.

At the NFL Scouting Combine, the Giants focused heavily on defensive talent, particularly linebackers and defensive backs. Missouri linebacker Josiah Trotter drew significant interest from the coaching staff, while Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles left his meeting with positive impressions of the organization. That meeting was awesome. Coach Harbaugh was great, Styles commented following his session with Giants personnel.

The linebacker position appears to be a priority area for New York, with Texas linebacker Anthony Hill and Michigan linebacker Jimmy Rolder among the prospects who have met with the team. The Giants interest in athletic, versatile linebackers aligns with modern NFL defensive trends that emphasize speed and coverage ability.

Offensive skill positions have also received considerable attention from Giants scouts and coaches. Wide receiver remains a position of need, evidenced by meetings with Arizona State receiver Jordyn Tyson, Ohio State receiver Carnell Tate, and USC receiver Makai Lemon. Tate expressed enthusiasm about potentially joining the Giants, noting the appeal of playing alongside the team young receiving corps in New York high-profile market.

I came from playing with another receiver - to go out there and play along another receiver, it would be a great opportunity. Especially playing in New York, big showcase. I would love to go out there and play in New York, Tate explained.

Running back Notre Dame Jeremiyah Love has generated significant organizational interest, earning both a combine meeting and a formal top-30 visit to the team facilities. Love explosive playmaking ability and proven production at the collegiate level make him an attractive option for a Giants ground game seeking additional dynamism.

The Giants approach to defensive backs reflects their need for depth and talent in the secondary. Prospects including Ohio State cornerback Davison Igbinosun, Tennessee cornerback Jermod McCoy, and LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane have all interviewed with the organization. Igbinosun, a New Jersey native, expressed special appreciation for the opportunity to meet with his home-state team.

It was nice just talking to the home team. Just, growing up as a kid in Jersey, of course I had dreams of playing for the home team, Igbinosun shared.

Coach Harbaugh presence has clearly made an impression on prospects throughout the interview process. Multiple players have specifically mentioned positive interactions with the head coach, suggesting the Giants are leveraging his reputation and communication skills to build relationships with potential draft picks.

The Giants pro day attendance has been extensive, with representatives evaluating prospects at major college programs across the country. Memphis offensive tackle Travis Burke has earned multiple interactions with the organization, including both pro day and formal visit opportunities. His versatility and athleticism fit the profile of linemen the Giants have historically valued.

Top-30 visits represent the most significant investment of organizational resources in prospect evaluation. Beyond Love and Burke, the Giants have hosted Ohio State edge rusher Arvell Reese, Georgia defensive tackle Christen Miller, and several other prospects for intensive facility tours and extended meetings.

Local connections have also played a role in the Giants evaluation process. Rutgers quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis received attention as a local prospect, while Penn State receivers and linemen have drawn organizational interest due to their geographic proximity and familiarity with East Coast football.

The breadth of positions represented in the Giants meeting schedule suggests organizational flexibility approaching the draft. Rather than signaling specific positional targets, the comprehensive approach indicates preparedness to address multiple roster needs depending on draft board developments.
