Giants rally from 14 down as Commanders run out of time in 27-27 tie
The Giants erased a two-touchdown deficit before Washington failed to attempt a winning field goal at the end of overtime.

The New York Giants recovered from a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to draw 27-27 with the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium on Sunday, October 11. Neither side scored in overtime, leaving New York at 3-1-1 and Washington at 1-3-1 after a game in which both teams had opportunities to secure victory.

Watch the highlights:

According to Saturday Down South's report, Washington reached the Giants' 24-yard line with 12 seconds remaining in overtime but could not attempt a winning field goal. With no timeouts available, Jayden Daniels ran with the ball instead of throwing it away. The Commanders were unable to line up and spike it before the clock expired.

New York had already wasted two chances in the extra period. The Giants missed a field goal on their opening overtime possession and later lost a fumble in Washington territory, Saturday Down South reported. That turnover gave the Commanders the possession that ended with Daniels' final run, rather than a kick to decide the contest.

The Football Database's scoring summary shows how Washington built its advantage. Jacory Croskey-Merritt opened the scoring with a 33-yard touchdown run, and two Drew Stevens field goals helped establish a 12-3 halftime lead. Daniels then scored on runs of 38 and 26 yards after the break. A two-point pass to Terry McLaurin following the second of those runs made it 27-13.

Jameis Winston answered with two fourth-quarter touchdown passes, each covering 17 yards. Isaiah Likely caught the first, his second touchdown of the game, before Malik Nabers supplied the equalising score with 1:43 remaining. New York scored 14 points in the final quarter to force overtime after managing only three across the entire first half.

Saltuno's box score lists Winston with 326 passing yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Nabers finished with 11 catches for 121 yards, while Likely also made 11 receptions, gaining 94 yards. Daniels passed for 199 yards and added 103 rushing yards with two touchdowns. Giants kicker Dominic Zvada converted two of five field-goal attempts, another missed opportunity in a game that ultimately produced no winner.
