Gary Neville Warns Arsenal Will Need 'Wheelbarrow' to Win Premier League Title Race

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has issued a stark warning to Arsenal, suggesting the Gunners will need to "virtually use a wheelbarrow" to carry themselves over the Premier League title line this season.

Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League table on Sunday following a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium. The win moved Arsenal two points clear of Manchester City, who still have a game in hand on their title rivals. However, Neville, speaking on Sky Sports, expressed doubts about Arsenal's ability to maintain their position through the remainder of the campaign.

"I thought Arsenal were outstanding in the first half," Neville said. "They came out with a purpose and intensity that Newcastle couldn't live with. But this title race isn't going to be easy. I think Arsenal will need a wheelbarrow to get over the line because the pressure is immense and City have been here before."

Mikel Arteta's side took the lead through Bukayo Saka's composed finish before halftime, but Newcastle equalized through Anthony Gordon after the break. The decisive moment came when Gabriel Martinelli converted a penalty in the 78th minute to secure all three points for the Gunners.

The victory marks Arsenal's 20th win of the Premier League season, tying them with their 2003-04 invincibles campaign in terms of league victories at this stage.
