Lancashire all-rounder Fi Morris to retire after One-Day Cup campaign

Lancashire all-rounder Fi Morris will retire from professional cricket at the end of the current One-Day Cup campaign, bringing her four-season spell with the county to a close. BBC Sport reported the decision on Friday, with Morris set to finish her playing career after Lancashire complete their remaining matches in the competition.

The 32-year-old batter and off-spinner joined Lancashire after previously representing Western Storm. She has since made 91 appearances for the Red Rose across the available formats, establishing herself as a regular contributor with both bat and ball during a successful period for the county.

Morris has scored more than 1,400 runs and taken 79 wickets for Lancashire. Those totals underline the dual role she has held in the side, offering batting depth as well as an off-spin option throughout her time with the club.

Her Lancashire career included a trophy double in 2025. Morris was part of the squad that won both the T20 County Cup and the One-Day Cup, giving her a central place in one of the strongest seasons of the club's recent history. Her retirement will therefore come one campaign after she helped Lancashire secure silverware in both domestic limited-overs competitions.

In comments reported by BBC Sport, Morris said she had felt from the time she joined Lancashire that the club was where she wanted to spend the rest of her career. She also described the environment as having the character of a large family and said it was a special place to play.

Morris is the latest experienced Lancashire player to confirm an end-of-season departure. Former England bowler Kate Cross announced last week that she will also retire when the campaign concludes. Lancashire must now prepare for the loss of two senior members of their squad while Morris focuses on completing her final One-Day Cup fixtures.
