Fernandez Header Sends Chelsea Through to FA Cup Final Against Manchester City
Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella's long throw-in caused chaos in the box before Fernandez rose highest to power home the only goal of the semi-final.

Chelsea have secured their place in the FA Cup final after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Leeds United at Wembley Stadium. The decisive moment came in the 58th minute when a long throw-in from Marc Cucurella caused mayhem in the penalty area, and young defender Aaron Fernandez rose highest to power home the winner.

The match was a tense affair with both sides creating chances. Leeds, managed by Sam Allardyce, came close on several occasions through Summerville and Rutter, but Chelsea's defense stood firm. Petrovic was decisive in goal, making three crucial saves to keep a clean sheet.

Chelsea manager will be delighted with the defensive solidity shown, especially given the absence of several key players through injury. The victory sets up a mouth-watering final against Manchester City, who earlier beat Southampton in their semi-final.

Fernandez, who joined Chelsea from Boca Juniors last summer, has been a revelation this season. "I'm over the moon," he said after the match. "The manager has shown great faith in me and I just want to repay that every time I play."

The final will take place at Wembley on May 20th, with both clubs now focusing on their respective league campaigns. Chelsea sit third in the Premier League while City remain in the title race with Arsenal.
