Erasmus hits unbeaten 156 as Namibia beat Ireland to level ODI series
Gerhard Erasmus made a career-best unbeaten 156 and took the final two wickets as Namibia defeated Ireland by 31 runs in Windhoek. The five-match ODI series is level at 1-1.

Gerhard Erasmus delivered with bat and ball as Namibia beat Ireland by 31 runs in the second one-day international in Windhoek on Saturday, levelling the five-match series at 1-1. BBC Sport reported that the Namibia captain finished unbeaten on a career-best 156 before returning to take the last two wickets of Ireland's chase.

Watch the highlights:

Namibia made 321-6 from their 50 overs after Ireland captain Paul Stirling chose to field. Erasmus faced 125 deliveries, while Jan Frylinck contributed 76 from 90 balls. According to Cricbuzz, their third-wicket partnership added 117 after Namibia had slipped to 49-2, giving the hosts a platform following the departures of Louren Steenkamp and Michael van Lingen.

The decisive acceleration came late in the innings. Cricbuzz reported that Erasmus reached his century from 108 balls and then added another 56 from his final 17 deliveries. Namibia collected 111 runs across the last 10 overs, including 79 in the final five. Alexander Volschenk contributed 30 from 20 balls, helping turn the recovery into a target of 322 for the visitors.

Gavin Hoey provided Ireland's most effective bowling return with 3-53, but the seamers faced a difficult afternoon. BBC Sport reported that Byron McDonough finished with 1-71 despite taking a wicket with the first delivery of his spell, while Curtis Campher conceded 74 runs in his 10 overs and took one wicket. Ireland were again without leading seamer Mark Adair.

Stirling led the response with 77 from 71 balls, but Jack Brassell's four wickets prevented Ireland from building a sustained chase. Brassell dismissed Stirling, Lorcan Tucker, George Dockrell and Campher to finish with 4-52. RTÉ reported that Stirling and Andrew Balbirnie, who made 22, had put on 54 for the opening wicket. Dockrell's 48 and Campher's 45 later kept the visitors in contention through the middle overs.

Ireland's lower order also resisted, with Hoey making 31 and Jai Moondra adding 20, according to RTÉ. Erasmus ended that late challenge, catching Moondra off his own bowling before claiming the final wicket. Ireland were dismissed for 290 in 47.3 overs. The teams return to action on Tuesday with the series level and three matches still to play.
