Erasmus hits unbeaten 156 as Namibia beat Ireland to level ODI series
Gerhard Erasmus made an unbeaten 156 and Jack Brassell took four wickets as Namibia defeated Ireland by 31 runs in Windhoek. The result levelled the ODI series at 1-1.

Gerhard Erasmus scored an unbeaten 156 as Namibia defeated Ireland by 31 runs in the second one-day international in Windhoek on Saturday, levelling the series at 1-1. According to BBC Sport's scorecard, Namibia reached 321 for six before dismissing the visitors for 290 in 47.3 overs at the FNB Namibia Cricket Ground. Jack Brassell led the home attack with four wickets for 52.

Watch the highlights:

Ireland chose to field and made an early breakthrough when Byron McDonough dismissed Louren Steenkamp without scoring. Michael van Lingen contributed 22 before falling to Curtis Campher, leaving Namibia 49 for two. Erasmus and Jan Frylinck then added 117 for the third wicket, rebuilding the innings before Frylinck was caught off Gavin Hoey for 76 from 90 balls.

Erasmus remained unbeaten through the rest of the innings, facing 125 deliveries and hitting 14 fours and four sixes. Alex Volschenk supplied 30 from 20 balls as Namibia advanced from 225 for five to 317 for six before his dismissal in the final over. Hoey was Ireland's most successful bowler, finishing with three for 53 from his 10 overs, including the wickets of Frylinck, Nicol Loftie-Eaton and Zane Green.

Paul Stirling gave Ireland's chase impetus with 77 from 71 balls, including eight fours and three sixes, but wickets at the other end restricted the visitors' progress. After Andrew Balbirnie was run out for 22, Cade Carmichael made 12 and Harry Tector six. Brassell dismissed Lorcan Tucker for a duck and then trapped Stirling lbw, leaving Ireland 125 for five in the 25th over.

Campher and George Dockrell kept the chase alive with an 85-run sixth-wicket partnership. Campher scored 45 and Dockrell 48, both at a run a ball, before Brassell removed each of them with catches to wicketkeeper Green. Andy McBrine's subsequent run-out left Ireland 231 for eight, still needing 91 to win.

Hoey and Jai Moondra added 58 for the ninth wicket, with Hoey striking three sixes in his 31 and Moondra contributing 20. Erasmus ended their resistance by dismissing both in the 48th over, completing figures of two for 13 alongside his century. Namibia's victory cancelled out Ireland's 55-run win in the opening match, leaving the five-match series level with three games remaining.
