England seize control of second Test after Pakistan collapse at Lord's

England took firm control of the second Test against Pakistan at Lord's after dismissing the tourists for 110 on Friday. BBC Sport reported that Ollie Robinson took 4-11 and Jofra Archer 3-26 as Pakistan struggled against England's four-man seam attack, leaving the hosts 261 runs ahead by the close of day two.

England began the day on 248-9 and reached 290 after Gus Atkinson and Josh Tongue extended their final-wicket partnership to 47. Atkinson and Tongue added 42 runs during the morning session, giving the home side a stronger first-innings total before the bowlers took over. England's first innings also included 61 from Jamie Smith and 55 from Jordan Cox.

Pakistan were without opener Imam-ul-Haq because of a calf injury. Azan Awais made 46 and was the only Pakistan batter to pass 20, while extras provided the innings' next-highest contribution. Robinson and Archer led the damage, with Tongue adding two wickets as Pakistan conceded a first-innings deficit of 180.

Robinson's four-wicket return continued a productive run since his recall, while Archer supplied the greater pace. BBC Sport recorded Archer reaching 95mph during his opening spell. Robinson removed Saud Shakeel and Muhammad Rizwan after successful lbw reviews and later dismissed Awais with a short ball. Archer bowled Ali Usman and Muhammad Abbas after earlier removing Shan Masood.

England then slipped to 13-2 in their second innings. Ben Duckett was caught at mid-off and Jordan Cox was lbw, both dismissed by Khurram Shahzad. Emilio Gay and captain Joe Root responded with a 47-run partnership before Mohammad Ali trapped Root lbw for 24. Harry Brook overturned an lbw decision after review showed an inside edge.

Gay reached stumps unbeaten on 30 as England closed at 81-3. The hosts already lead the two-match series after winning the opener, and Pakistan's highest total in three innings on the tour is 171. The match remains scheduled for five days, although BBC Sport reported that poor weather could significantly disrupt Saturday's play.
