Enciso equaliser denies Forest as Ipswich earn 1-1 draw
Julio Enciso cancelled out Neco Williams's opener as Ipswich drew 1-1 with Nottingham Forest. The result left Forest with six points from eight Premier League matches.

Julio Enciso scored Ipswich Town's equaliser as they drew 1-1 with Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Friday, leaving the visitors with six points from eight matches. According to The Guardian's match report, Neco Williams had put Forest ahead before Enciso punished a defensive mistake, with both goals coming in the first half amid heavy rain and strong winds in Suffolk.

Watch the highlights:

Forest arrived as the division's lowest scorers and made an early breakthrough when Daniel Muñoz supplied a cross for Williams. Unmarked as he moved into position, Williams finished low past Christian Walton. The visitors threatened to extend their advantage, but Ipswich responded with efforts from Jaden Philogene and Enciso that required saves from Matz Sels.

Ipswich's equaliser followed a Forest attack that broke down when Jair Cunha lost possession after advancing. Dara O'Shea sent the ball forward, and Nikola Milenkovic failed to deal effectively with the clearance. His weak back-pass gave Enciso the opening to finish, cancelling out Williams's goal and ensuring the teams went into the interval level.

The match also brought a disputed challenge involving Ipswich defender Issa Diop and Forest's James McAtee. Diop was allowed to remain on the pitch after a collision that Forest manager Oliver Glasner believed warranted a red card. The Guardian reported that the video-assistant assessment took account of McAtee's heavy touch. Ipswich manager Gary O'Neil supported the officials' conclusion, while Diop said Leif Davis was in position to provide cover.

Forest continued to create opportunities after the break without finding a winner. Murillo missed with a free header from a corner, and Callum Hudson-Odoi dragged a late attempt beyond the far post as eight minutes of stoppage time were being added. Those missed chances left Forest with only one victory from their opening eight league fixtures.

Glasner said the outcome did not reflect Forest's performance, but pointed to signs of togetherness within his team. O'Neil acknowledged that Ipswich had not used the ball well enough and could perform better. He nevertheless highlighted their ability to earn something from a match in which they had to withstand pressure rather than control possession.
