Ellie Scotney to Challenge Tiara Brown for WBC Featherweight Title

Ellie Scotney will challenge unbeaten WBC featherweight champion Tiara Brown at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas, on November 8, placing a world-title opportunity at the center of her move to a new division. The scheduled 10-round bout will be Scotney’s first contest at the 126-pound featherweight limit.

BBC Sport reported the matchup on Tuesday, and promoter Most Valuable Promotions confirmed it as the co-main event of its MVPW-07 card. The event is scheduled to air live on ESPN and the ESPN App in the United States.

Brown enters the defense with a 21-0 professional record, including 11 knockouts. The Florida-based American won the WBC featherweight championship by defeating Skye Nicolson in March 2025, then retained the belt against Emma Gongara in September 2025 and Hannah Rapp in June 2026. Her meeting with Scotney is set to be her third title defense.

Scotney, from Catford in London, is 12-0 as a professional. The 28-year-old became the undisputed super-bantamweight champion in April, beating Mayelli Flores by unanimous decision over 10 rounds at Olympia London. That victory added Flores’ WBA belt to the IBF, WBC and WBO titles Scotney already held, before she elected to leave the 122-pound division and move up four pounds.

The Arlington card will be headlined by IBF lightweight champion Elif Nur Turhan defending against unified super-featherweight champion Alycia Baumgardner, who is stepping up to 135 pounds. MVP also announced Skye Nicolson against Miyo Yoshida in a super-bantamweight title contest, while Ramla Ali and Mikiah Kreps are due to meet for unified super-bantamweight championships.

Brown and Scotney are scheduled to appear together at the event’s kickoff press conference in Birmingham, England, on August 27. Their fight matches an established champion against a former undisputed champion seeking a world title immediately upon entering a second weight class.
