Eight MLB Teams Unveil Striking New City Connect Designs
Major League Baseball witnessed a historic uniform reveal Thursday as eight franchises simultaneously unveiled their latest Nike City Connect designs. The Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, Kansas City Royals, Milwaukee Brewers, Pittsburgh Pirates, San Diego Padres, and Texas Rangers each showcased bold new looks that celebrate their local communities and heritage.
This marks the second edition of City Connect uniforms for these franchises, building upon previous designs with fresh perspectives on regional identity and team history. The coordinated release represents the largest single-day uniform debut in the program's history.
The Atlanta Braves embraced nostalgia with a modernized powder blue design that pays homage to their beloved 1980s uniforms. The updated Atlanta script across the chest features red piping, while an ATL block letter sleeve patch combines vintage aesthetics with contemporary team colors. Ronald Acuña Jr. modeled the striking new look during the official presentation.
Baltimore's design draws inspiration directly from Camden Yards, incorporating elements like brass home run plaques and the wrought-iron scoreboard clock into the uniform's visual language. The Camden B logo, inspired by the 1890s Baltimore Baseball Club, serves as a historical bridge between eras. An Oriole bird perches prominently atop the BMORE wordmark, with Adley Rutschman serving as the featured model.
Cincinnati's approach celebrates the franchise's defining red color through modern pinstripes in a sophisticated tone-on-tone style. The design nods to popular vest-style jerseys not worn for over two decades. Hunter Greene showcased the uniform, which features a sleeve graphic of the iconic Tyler Davidson Fountain that traditionally begins flowing around Opening Day.
The Kansas City Royals took perhaps the boldest approach with a striking fuchsia-to-blue gradient inspired by the city's official City of Fountains logo. The design channels Kansas City's waterways and community spirit, featuring an updated R logo that honors the club's original 1969 mark. Cole Ragans modeled the vibrant design that includes a heart logo representing Kansas City's heartland identity.
Milwaukee's design captures Wisconsin's natural beauty through water-toned base colors and cream accents that evoke the state's lakes, sandy shores, and sandstone bluffs. The gradient wordmark reflects Wisconsin's stunning summer sunsets. Christian Yelich presented the uniform, which includes a Wisco chest wordmark, state motto on the collar, and a redesigned Barrelman sleeve patch celebrating both team history and state heritage.
Pittsburgh maintained its unmistakable black and gold identity while adding rugged, pirate-inspired elements. The wordmark font draws inspiration from the city's Sister Bridges, while red accents and Jolly Roger elements provide boldness without abandoning Pittsburgh's iconic color palette. Paul Skenes modeled the design that perfectly captures the city's industrial heritage.
San Diego's uniform celebrates the region's bi-national culture with special emphasis on Día de los Muertos traditions. The design features a sunset-ombre San Diego chest wordmark, La Catrina sleeve patch, marigold-patterned trim, bone-colored hat and pants, and papel picado jock tag details. Jackson Merrill showcased this culturally rich design.
Texas Rangers embraced their state's Mexican heritage with cochineal red anchoring a design featuring a Tejas chest wordmark, charro-embossed belt, and mariachi-inspired fill patterns. Wyatt Langford modeled the uniform that celebrates the deep cultural connections between Texas and Mexico.
All eight uniforms are now available through multiple outlets including nike.com, mlbshop.com, fanatics.com, team stores, and select retail locations. These designs will remain part of each club's on-field rotation for multiple seasons, ensuring fans will see these distinctive looks throughout upcoming campaigns.
