Fin Smith cleared for England return as Ben Curry replaces injured twin
Fin Smith has recovered from a calf injury to retain the England fly-half role against Australia. Ben Curry returns to the side after his twin brother Tom was injured in training.

Fin Smith has been named at fly-half in England's team to face Australia after recovering from a calf injury, while Ben Curry returns at openside flanker in place of his injured twin brother Tom. BBC Sport and the Guardian reported the selections on Friday, with Maro Itoje also returning to captain Steve Borthwick's side.

Watch the highlights:

Smith's fitness had been in doubt after he left Northampton's defeat by Leicester late in the match on 24 October. The 24-year-old has started England's last five games at fly-half and passed his final fitness assessment before being selected. Jack van Poortvliet joins him at scrum-half, with Alex Mitchell unavailable through injury, according to the Guardian.

Ben Curry's selection ends an injury-disrupted absence from Test rugby lasting 16 months, BBC Sport reported. Tom suffered his latest setback during training on Wednesday. The Guardian reported concerns that he could miss the whole autumn campaign, although it did not confirm that outcome. Ollie Chessum and Ben Earl complete the starting back row alongside Ben.

Borthwick has changed four starters from the side that beat Argentina in July, according to the Guardian. Itoje, rested for the summer Tests, partners Alex Coles at lock, with George Martin among the replacements. Fin Baxter starts at loosehead prop after returning from a lengthy foot-injury absence, joining Jamie George and Joe Heyes in the front row.

George Furbank returns at full-back for his first England appearance in two years, the Guardian reported. His earlier comeback plans were disrupted by appendicitis before the summer match against South Africa. Tommy Freeman and Immanuel Feyi-Waboso occupy the wings, while Seb Atkinson and Henry Slade remain the centre pairing. Neither Joe Marchant nor Will Joseph is included in the matchday squad.

Exeter back-row forward Greg Fisilau could make his England debut from a bench containing six forwards and two backs. Borthwick said his performances for Exeter and work in England training had earned the opportunity. Luke Cowan-Dickie, Ellis Genge, Will Stuart, Martin and Henry Pollock are the other replacement forwards, with Ben Spencer and Marcus Smith providing the backline options.
