Duckett's 167 and Dawson's four wickets lift England past Sri Lanka
Ben Duckett hit his highest ODI score and Liam Dawson took four wickets as England beat Sri Lanka by 55 runs in their final tri-series match in Lahore.

England ended their one-day international tri-series campaign with a 55-run victory over Sri Lanka in Lahore, where Ben Duckett's 167 and Liam Dawson's four wickets proved decisive. According to BBC Sport's match report, England made 386-5 from their 50 overs before dismissing Sri Lanka for 331 in 45.1 overs. It was a consolation victory for England, with Sri Lanka due to meet Pakistan in the final.

Watch the highlights:

Duckett faced 132 balls for his highest ODI score, recording a second successive century. He and Tom Banton put on 163 for the opening wicket, providing the foundation for England's total on a surface favourable to batting. Banton contributed 74 before playing the ball on to his stumps, leaving Duckett to continue an innings that ultimately separated the two sides' leading scorers.

England also received contributions throughout the rest of their innings. Harry Brook scored 44, Will Jacks added 30 and Jordan Cox made 43 from 27 deliveries. Those runs took England to within 14 of 400 without Root being required to bat. Asitha finished with figures of 2-63 for Sri Lanka, whose attack had another demanding outing in the Lahore heat.

Sri Lanka nevertheless remained in contention during the chase. Pavan Rathnayake struck 118 from 77 balls, following his 130 against England a week earlier, while Kusal Mendis made 89. Sri Lanka had successfully chased 430 in that previous meeting, and another substantial pursuit was still possible with 87 needed from the final 10 overs. England's large first-innings total had not put the result beyond doubt.

This time, however, England prevented a repeat as Sri Lanka lost their final five wickets for 16 runs. Dawson removed Rathnayake in the 45th over and finished with 4-49, helping turn a competitive chase into a clear victory. Rathnayake's century was not enough to carry Sri Lanka home, despite the platform he and Mendis had established.

The teams now move on to different assignments. Sri Lanka will face Pakistan in Sunday's tri-series final, while England travel to Australia for three ODIs and five T20 matches in November. England leave Lahore with a win built around Duckett's career-best ODI innings and a late bowling response that secured the result after Sri Lanka had again threatened a major chase.
