Douvikas hits hat-trick as Como overwhelm Lens 9-1 in Champions League
Anastasios Douvikas scored three times as Como won 9-1 away to Lens. The Italian side moved to nine points after four Champions League matches.

Como beat Lens 9-1 at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Wednesday, November 4, with Anastasios Douvikas scoring a hat-trick in a Champions League victory that featured seven different scorers for the visitors. Football Italia reported that the result also brought a debut goal for 18-year-old Matteo Papaccioli, who completed the scoring in stoppage time.

Watch the highlights:

Douvikas put Como ahead in the seventh minute and added his second in the 32nd, before Nico Paz made it 3-0 five minutes before the interval. According to Football Italia, the opening goal followed a short corner and a knockdown from Maximo Perrone. Alex Valle supplied the final pass for the second, while Douvikas then turned provider for Paz as Como established their three-goal half-time advantage.

The scoring accelerated after the break. The match chronology published by TNT Sports recorded Lucas Da Cunha's goal in the 47th minute and Marc-Oliver Kempf's in the 53rd. Douvikas completed his treble four minutes later, leaving Lens six goals behind before an hour had been played. His three goals were spread across both halves, with the last coming as Como continued to extend an already substantial lead.

Mattia Liberali made it 7-0 in the 62nd minute, before Ruben Aguilar scored for Lens in the 65th. Tribuna's match record lists Martin Baturina's reply four minutes later and Papaccioli's ninth for Como in added time. Aguilar's goal therefore provided only a brief interruption to the visitors' scoring, with two more Como players finding the net before the finish.

Football Italia reported that Papaccioli initially had to wait to celebrate because an offside flag was raised, but a VAR check confirmed his goal. The teenager's contribution capped a night in which Como's substitutes also added to the score, with Liberali and Baturina among those coming off the bench and scoring, according to Tribuna.

The result left Como with nine points from four matches and in fourth place in the Champions League table, Gazeta Esportiva reported. Lens were 33rd with three points. For Cesc Fabregas's team, the win added an emphatic away result to a campaign that had already included home victories over RB Leipzig and Manchester United, both by 4-1, according to Football Italia.
