Dewsbury-Hall and Barry lift Everton to fifth with Coventry comeback
Everton beat Coventry City 3-1 to move fifth in the Premier League. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored after missing out on England selection, while Thierno Barry struck twice.

Everton climbed to fifth in the Premier League after coming from behind to beat Coventry City 3-1 at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Friday. According to BBC Sport's report, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored in the victory hours after being left out of England's latest squad, while Thierno Barry contributed two goals as David Moyes' team recorded successive league wins.

Watch the highlights:

Barry struck twice within five minutes early in the second half to help overturn Everton's deficit. The forward's double took him to 10 goals in all competitions this season, already beyond the eight he managed during the previous campaign. BBC Sport reported that the Frenchman had initially struggled with form and confidence after arriving from Villarreal, but his latest contribution continued a much more productive season.

For Dewsbury-Hall, the result followed the disappointment of missing Thomas Tuchel's selection for England's Nations League fixtures this month. Borussia Dortmund teenager Jobe Bellingham was included instead. Tuchel had acknowledged earlier on Friday that the Everton midfielder had been close to making the squad and praised his performances this season, according to the BBC report.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Dewsbury-Hall said representing England remained a major ambition and admitted the omission had been difficult to take. He nevertheless expressed pride in his response on the pitch and said he intended to keep working towards a first call-up. He also credited his role under Moyes with allowing him to contribute in different areas of the field.

The midfielder has now scored 11 Premier League goals and supplied seven assists for Everton since the start of last season, BBC Sport reported. His progress follows a career that included loan spells at Blackpool and Luton Town before establishing himself at Leicester City. He helped Leicester win the Championship under Enzo Maresca, then followed the coach to Chelsea, where his league opportunities were limited before his move to Everton.

Barry, meanwhile, told Match of the Day that he studies videos of Erling Haaland and tries to learn from the Manchester City forward's game. He expressed an ambition to stay in contention for the Golden Boot. For Everton, his two-goal contribution and Dewsbury-Hall's strike delivered the immediate reward of another league victory and a place in the top five.
