DeChambeau has reported route to 2027 DP World Tour membership
Bryson DeChambeau could secure full DP World Tour playing privileges through his major-winning status, but has not announced his plans.

Bryson DeChambeau has a route to full playing privileges on the DP World Tour in 2027 if he applies for membership, according to Golf Channel, citing a Telegraph report. The two-time US Open champion's representatives have reportedly been informed of that option, but he has not announced a decision about where he will play next season.

Watch the highlights:

The reported opportunity rests on DeChambeau's status as a major champion. It is an eligibility route, rather than confirmation that he has joined the European circuit. Golf Channel reported that Jon Rahm, Tyrrell Hatton and Sergio Garcia have already announced plans to compete on the DP World Tour.

A PGA Tour return is a separate matter. Golf Channel reported that chief executive Brian Rolapp has maintained that the Returning Members Program used by Brooks Koepka earlier this year was a one-time offer. DeChambeau was also eligible for that program when it was available.

The membership report comes as LIV Golf formally prepares to wind down. In its own statement, the league said a proposed recapitalization involving BC Partners Credit would not proceed as expected because the parties had been unable to resolve outstanding transaction terms. The restructuring support agreement underpinning the proposal has been terminated, ending that planned route out of its financial difficulties.

LIV said the wind-down followed a timetable approved in its Chapter 11 proceedings in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey. However, the league said it would continue considering alternatives from third parties during that process. Its statement therefore set out an intended operational shutdown while leaving open the possibility of other proposals, rather than announcing that every stage had been completed.

DeChambeau already has a confirmed DP World Tour appearance ahead. Golf Monthly reported in October that the Nedbank Golf Challenge had confirmed him for its December 3-6 tournament at Sun City in South Africa. Justin Rose, Marco Penge and defending champion Kristoffer Reitan were also named in the field. That individual tournament commitment is distinct from taking up membership for a full season.
