De Minaur claims 350th tour-level win with Vienna victory over Berrettini
Alex de Minaur beat Matteo Berrettini in straight sets to reach a third consecutive Vienna semi-final and claim his 350th tour-level victory. He will face Alexander Zverev next.

Alex de Minaur recorded his 350th tour-level victory on Friday, beating Matteo Berrettini 7-6 (7-4), 6-2 in the Vienna Open quarter-finals. The Australian, seeded fifth and ranked 10th, reached the tournament's last four for a third consecutive year. Tenniswatcher reported that the result made him the ninth Australian man in the Open Era to reach that wins milestone.

Watch the highlights:

The opening set offered Berrettini several opportunities to take control. Sky Sport's live account recorded three break points in de Minaur's first service game, all saved by the Australian. Berrettini later earned a set point with a 6-5 lead, but de Minaur held again to force a tiebreak, which he won 7-4.

Berrettini immediately threatened another change of direction at the start of the second set. De Minaur faced two break points in that opening game and survived both. The Italian then lost serve in the following game, giving his opponent the first break of the match after an opening set without a service break.

Sky Sport described Berrettini missing the ball on an overhead at the decisive moment of that service game. De Minaur consolidated his advantage for a 3-0 lead, then continued holding serve as Berrettini tried to stay in touch. From 5-2, the Australian closed out the match with another break rather than having to serve for victory.

The result also brought de Minaur his 36th tour-level semi-final and his fifth of the 2026 season, according to Tenniswatcher. He had beaten Berrettini in the same round in Vienna a year earlier. Their latest meeting left their tour-level head-to-head record level at three victories apiece, ending the Italian's narrow lead in the rivalry.

Alexander Zverev will be de Minaur's next opponent after the top seed defeated Arthur Fery 6-0, 6-2. Elsewhere in the quarter-finals, Daniil Medvedev beat Adrian Mannarino 6-2, 6-3 and Carlos Alcaraz overcame Tommy Paul 6-4, 7-6 (7-2). Medvedev and Alcaraz will meet in the other semi-final, completing the last-four line-up for the indoor ATP 500 tournament.
