Prix Ganay winner Daryz has been handed a Royal Ascot engagement following his dominant display at Longchamp, with connections excited about his prospects on the turf.

Daryz, the impressive winner of Sunday's Prix Ganay at Longchamp, has been entered for Royal Ascot following his commanding victory in the prestigious prep race. The four-year-old entire demonstrated his class to defeat a quality field, earning recognition from trainer Fabrice Chappet and connections as a genuine top-level performer.

The son of Study of Man tracked the leaders before unleashing a powerful turn of foot approaching the final furlong, drawing away to win by two and a half lengths in a dominant display. The winning margin surprised connections, who had expected a tighter contest against thelikes of Dubai Mile and Onesto.

Chappet expressed his delight after the race, indicating Royal Ascot had always been the long-term target for his charge. "We always believed Daryz had the ability to be a proper Group One horse, and today he proved it," Chappet said. "The way he traveled and quickened was very impressive. The plan from here is definitely Royal Ascot."

The King George V Handicap has emerged as the likely target for Daryz, with connections feeling the mile-and-a-half trip will suit him perfectly. HisPrix Ganay performance has elevated him in the betting for the Royal Meeting, with bookmakers now offering 12-1 odds for the prestigious staying contest.

Daryz has now won three of his four career starts, with his only defeat coming when runner-up in a conditions race at Deauville last summer. The victory further cemented his position as one of Europe's most promising staying three-year-olds.

The Royal Ascot meeting begins on June 16, where Daryz could face a rematch with several rivals he defeated at Longchamp. Chappet confirmed the horse will have one more prep run before traveling to England, likely at the end of May.
