Antigua and Barbuda beat Anguilla 5-0 but finish with nine after hair-pulling red cards

Antigua and Barbuda scored five first-half goals to beat Anguilla 5-0 in the Concacaf Nations League on Saturday, but ended the match with nine players after two hair-pulling incidents. BBC Sport reported that Keon Greene and Shalon Knight were both dismissed for fouls involving Anguilla substitute Aedan Scipio.

The hosts established control almost immediately at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. FotMob's match record credits Christopher Douglas with the opening goal in the first minute, followed by Dion Pereira's strike in the 16th. Douglas scored again in the 21st minute, giving Antigua and Barbuda a three-goal lead before the halfway point of the opening period.

D'Andre Bishop added the fourth goal after 35 minutes and Kayonte George completed the scoring in the 43rd. All five goals therefore came before the interval, leaving Anguilla facing a substantial deficit throughout the second half. The visitors did not concede again, but were unable to produce a goal of their own.

Scipio entered in the 69th minute with the score already 5-0, according to BBC Sport. Three minutes later, Greene received a straight red card for pulling his dreadlocks. The 36-year-old forward wears a band around his waist to secure his ankle-length hair to his body, the broadcaster reported. Greene's dismissal left the hosts a player short for the remainder of normal time.

A second incident followed in added time. BBC Sport reported that Knight pulled Scipio's hair from behind and brought him to the ground. FotMob records Knight's red card in the third minute of stoppage time. That left Antigua and Barbuda with nine players for the closing stages, although the score remained unchanged.

The match statistics underline the hosts' advantage across the contest despite those late dismissals. FotMob recorded 73% possession for Antigua and Barbuda, compared with Anguilla's 27%, and a 24-9 lead in total shots. The home side also registered 10 attempts on target to the visitors' two, preserving their clean sheet after the decisive first-half scoring burst.
