Sarah Coyte hit a boundary from the final ball as Sydney Sixers defeated Brisbane Heat by four wickets in the Women's Big Bash League at Allan Border Field on Friday. According to BBC Sport's scorecard, the Sixers finished on 157-6 in reply to Brisbane's 154-5, completing a chase that went to the last delivery despite Ellyse Perry's half-century.

Watch the highlights:

The finish followed Erin Burns' run-out from the penultimate ball, which left Sydney on 153-6 and needing two runs to win. Coyte faced one delivery and scored four, while Alice Capsey remained unbeaten on 21 from 14 balls. Burns had contributed 11 from 10 before Sianna Ginger's involvement in the run-out gave Brisbane one more chance to defend their total.

Perry supplied the largest contribution to Sydney's chase with 58 from 38 deliveries, including seven fours and a six. Sophia Dunkley made 37 from 26, hitting six boundaries before Ginger dismissed her with the score at 53-1 in the seventh over. Melie Kerr added 18 from 20 balls before also falling to Ginger, leaving Sydney 103-2 after 13.2 overs.

Brisbane then removed Ashleigh Gardner for two and Perry shortly afterwards, reducing the Sixers to 118-4. Charli Knott dismissed both Perry and Eva Ragg, returning 2-25 from three overs, while Ginger took 2-31 from four. Sarah Glenn conceded just 16 runs from her four overs and claimed Gardner's wicket, helping to keep the contest alive before Sydney's lower order completed the pursuit.

Earlier, Brisbane's innings was built around Georgia Redmayne's 58 from 44 balls and Knott's 57 from 47. After Grace Harris fell for three, the pair added 97 for the second wicket, taking the Heat from 20-1 to 117-2. Redmayne struck eight fours, while Knott's innings included five fours and three sixes after Sydney won the toss and chose to field.

Gardner led the Sixers' wicket-taking with 2-25 from four overs, dismissing Knott and Annie O'Neil, who scored 18 from 12 balls. Lauren Cheatle, Caoimhe Bray and Coyte took one wicket apiece. Lucy Hamilton finished unbeaten on eight and Ginger on two as Brisbane reached 154-5, a total Sydney eventually passed with Coyte's only scoring shot.
