Costa vs Hokit: UFC Stars Trade Explosive Social Media Slurs After UFC 327
Former UFC middleweight title challenger Paulo Costa has launched a scathing attack on heavyweight breakout star Josh Hokit after the unranked newcomer banked $200,000 in performance bonuses at UFC 327 — a sum Costa believes should have been his.
The珠海 post-fight animosity boiled over on social media, with both men trading increasingly heated insults that have now set the groundwork for what could be one of the most entertaining fight announcements of the year.
Hokit stole the show at UFC 327 in his Octagon debut, stepping in as an unranked heavyweight against No. 5 Curtis Blaydes and walking away with a unanimous decision victory. The performance — which some are already calling one of the greatest heavyweight bouts in UFC history — earned him two performance-of-the-night bonuses totaling $200,000.
But in the co-main event, Costa was also making waves. The Brazilian former title challenger dropped to light heavyweight to face No. 6 ranked Azamat Murzakanov and delivered a head kick finish in what was his return to the 205-pound division. It was a statement win.
The problem, from Costa's perspective, was the bonus money. "Hey Josh Hokit you got my BONUS MTFK, I gonna fuc u up next time ur f***ing bum," Costa posted on X.
Hokit's reply was equal parts dismissive and absurd: "Fight Deez Nutz… but yes of course, I got like 20% body fat but don't get it twisted my Incredible Hok Juice is far more superior then your Secret Juice."
Costa responded with characteristic directness: "Fat ass you owe me 100k bônus."
Not content to leave it there, Hokit doubled down: "Id take you down and suffocate you with this belly… and take all your women from you… they prefer a dad bod anyways…"
Costa then called for the two to settle their dispute as the 'real' BMF — a reference to the coveted "Baddest Motherf***er" title. Hokit seemed to accept the challenge with characteristic confidence: "I'll eat your heart."
Whether this war of words translates into an actual fight booking remains to be seen, but if UFC matchmakers are paying attention, the fans would certainly not object to seeing Costa and Hokit finally settle their differences inside the Octagon.
