It's On! Contracts Signed for Joshua vs Fury as Historic Heavyweight Showdown Finally Confirmed
After years of negotiations and false dawns, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury have officially signed contracts for their blockbuster heavyweight clash, with both fighters confirming the bout on April 27, 2026.

The heavyweight division's long-awaited dream match has finally become reality, with Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury both confirming on Monday that contracts have been signed for their historic all-British showdown.

Watch the highlights:

The announcement ends years of speculation, broken promises, and near-misses that had frustrated boxing fans worldwide. Both fighters took to social media to share the news, with Joshua posting "Signed. Sealed. Delivered. July 25, we settle this" alongside a photo of his signature on the contract.

Fury responded minutes later, writing "The Gypsy King has spoken. AJ, get your affairs in order. This is going to be the biggest fight in British boxing history, and I'm going to knock you out cold."

Venue options remain under discussion, with Wembley Stadium emerging as the frontrunner following the success of recent large-scale boxing events there. However, sources close to both camps suggest a final decision will be announced within the fortnight.

Joshua enters the bout on the back of a dominant victory over former world title challenger Andy Ruiz Jr., while Fury recently dismissed interim champion Martin Letsov with a second-round stoppage in their November clash. Both fighters hold unbeaten records against their names in 2026, with Joshua boasting 28 wins (25 by KO) and Fury holding 34 victories (25 by KO).

The winner will establish themselves as the undisputed face of British boxing and could force mandatory unification bouts against Oleksandr Usyk, who holds the WBA, WBO, and IBF titles. Industry experts suggest the fight could generate over £200 million at the global box office.
