Chiefs, 49ers and Vikings stay unbeaten as Bills fall to Patriots
Kansas City, San Francisco and Minnesota emerged from Sunday's NFL games as the league's only unbeaten teams, all at 4-0. The Chiefs beat Las Vegas 30-27, while Buffalo's 29-26 defeat by New England also ended a perfect start. BBC Sport reported that five teams had entered week four without a loss.
Watch the highlights:
Kansas City's win turned on two Kenneth Walker touchdowns late in the game. The Raiders' official match report detailed how a 55-yard Tyquan Thornton reception set up Walker's two-yard scoring run. Jeffrey Bassa then forced a fumble on the ensuing kickoff return, giving the Chiefs another possession. Walker immediately added a 22-yard touchdown to put the visitors further ahead.
Walker finished with 177 rushing yards on 22 carries, according to the Raiders' report. Las Vegas answered through Brock Bowers, who caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Kirk Cousins, before Cody White completed the two-point conversion with a catch. That reduced the gap to three points but did not prevent the Raiders' first defeat. Cousins threw for 365 yards and two touchdowns in the divisional contest.
San Francisco beat Denver 24-14 after the teams remained level at 3-3 until late in the third quarter. Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle scored fourth-quarter touchdowns, with Kittle's catch-and-run settling the result after Jaylen Waddle had replied for Denver. BBC Sport reported that Brock Purdy has thrown 11 touchdown passes and only one interception through four games, without being sacked.
Minnesota took a different route to its fourth victory, beating Miami 15-10 without scoring a touchdown. Will Reichard supplied all of the Vikings' points with five field goals, keeping Minnesota alongside Kansas City and San Francisco among the teams yet to lose.
New England's victory at Buffalo removed another unbeaten side from that group. The Bills' official recap confirmed their first defeat of the season. The Patriots improved to 2-2 while Buffalo fell to 3-1, as recorded on the NFL's week-four results page. Both clubs' records changed in their first meeting of the season.
