Charlton Beat West Ham as Championship Leaders Stay Perfect
Charlton maintained their perfect start to the Championship season by beating West Ham 2-1 in a London derby on Saturday. PA Media reported that Lloyd Jones and Tyreece Campbell put the visitors two goals ahead before Joel Piroe scored on his West Ham debut to create a tense finish.

West Ham then had a late opportunity to rescue a point, but Taty Castellanos missed a penalty in stoppage time. The result left manager Nuno Espírito Santo’s side with one point from its opening two league matches, while Charlton preserved a flawless record through the same stage of the campaign.
Wolves recorded their first victory of the season with a 3-1 win away to Preston. Fer López scored in the eighth minute and completed his brace in the 82nd, with substitute Adam Armstrong adding another four minutes after entering the match. Jordan Thompson scored Preston’s consolation from 25 yards in first-half stoppage time, according to the report.
Blackburn also won 2-1 after overturning an early deficit against Middlesbrough at Ewood Park. Jeremy Sarmiento put Middlesbrough ahead in the 12th minute, but Andri Gudjohnsen headed Blackburn level four minutes after halftime. Todd Cantwell completed the turnaround with a diving header six minutes later, giving Rovers two quick second-half goals.
Southampton struck late to beat Stoke 3-1. Cyle Larin scored his third goal in three games to give Southampton an early lead before Ethan Galbraith equalised. Divin Mubama restored the home side’s advantage late on against his former club, and Ryan Manning converted a stoppage-time penalty after Svante Ingelsson was sent off for bringing down Samuel Edozie.
Elsewhere, Tairyk Arconte scored twice as Millwall beat 10-man Norwich 3-0 for a second consecutive victory. José Córdoba received a second yellow card in the 64th minute before Luke Cundle added Millwall’s third with six minutes remaining. Portsmouth earned their first win of the season by beating Lincoln 3-1, while Wrexham drew 1-1 with Watford and Cardiff drew 2-2 at Derby.
