Chacarra wins in India to take Race to Dubai lead from Reed
Eugenio Chacarra secured a two-shot victory at Delhi Golf Club, his third DP World Tour win of the season. The result moved him ahead of Patrick Reed in the Race to Dubai.

Eugenio Chacarra moved to the top of the Race to Dubai standings with a two-stroke victory at the DP World India Championship on Sunday. The Spaniard finished at 21 under par at Delhi Golf Club, ahead of New Zealand's Daniel Hillier on 19 under. BBC Sport reported that the result lifted Chacarra above Patrick Reed with three events remaining in the season.

Watch the highlights:

Chacarra had to complete his third round before playing the final round on Sunday after bad light interrupted Saturday's play. Having opened with two rounds of 67, he finished the third in 63 to establish a five-shot advantage. His closing 70 was enough to secure the title, although Hillier applied late pressure with a birdie at the last.

Rediff reported that Chacarra stretched his advantage to six shots early in the final round with birdies at the first and third holes, before dropping a shot at the sixth. He later birdied the 11th and made an important par save at the 16th. Pars at the final two holes completed a demanding Sunday that required him to play 25 holes.

The victory continued an increasingly productive run for Chacarra. According to the Associated Press report carried by Golf Channel, he had finished third at the French Open and second at the Spanish Open before winning in Delhi. This was his third victory of 2026, following June successes at the KLM Open and Italian Open, and his fourth DP World Tour title overall.

Neither of his leading rivals in the season-long standings challenged for the trophy in India. Reed closed with a 69 to finish tied for 23rd at eight under. Rory McIlroy's final-round 74 left him tied for 42nd at four under. BBC Sport reported that Reed had held the Race to Dubai lead since March following victories in Qatar and Dubai.

The season's remaining schedule takes the tour to Korea before the concluding playoff events in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in November, El País reported. Chacarra now has the opportunity to become the third Spaniard to win the season-long title, following Seve Ballesteros and Jon Rahm. His latest victory puts him in front, but the overall championship remains undecided.
