Champions League Round of 16 Delivers Stunning Upsets
Several European giants crash out in shocking fashion as underdogs advance to the quarterfinals.

The UEFA Champions League Round of 16 concluded with a series of stunning upsets that have sent shockwaves through European football, as traditional powerhouses fell to inspired underdogs in dramatic fashion.

The biggest shock came at the Santiago Bernabeu, where Real Madrid suffered a humiliating 4-1 aggregate defeat to Serie A side AC Milan. The Rossoneri, led by a masterful performance from midfielder Tijjani Reijnders, completely outclassed the 15-time European champions over two legs. Milan's 2-0 victory in Madrid on Thursday night sealed one of the most surprising eliminations in Champions League history.

Manchester City also crashed out in spectacular fashion, losing 3-2 on aggregate to Bundesliga surprise package RB Leipzig. Despite Erling Haaland's two goals in the second leg, City couldn't overcome Leipzig's disciplined defensive performance and clinical counter-attacking. The German side's 2-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium will go down as one of the most memorable European nights in their short history.

PSG joined the list of major casualties, falling 2-1 on aggregate to Atletico Madrid in a tie that showcased Diego Simeone's tactical masterclass. The French champions dominated possession but couldn't break down Atletico's resolute defense, with Antoine Griezmann's late winner at the Parc des Princes completing a perfect away performance.

Meanwhile, Liverpool advanced comfortably with a 5-1 aggregate victory over Inter Milan, while Barcelona squeezed through against Napoli on away goals after a thrilling 3-3 draw at Camp Nou. Bayern Munich also progressed, defeating Arsenal 4-2 over two legs in a pulsating tie that saw both teams play attacking football at its finest.

The quarterfinal draw has now been set, featuring an intriguing mix of established giants and ambitious challengers. Liverpool will face Barcelona in a repeat of recent classic encounters, while Bayern Munich takes on AC Milan in what promises to be a tactical battle. RB Leipzig draws Atletico Madrid, and the remaining spot will be filled by the winner of the Manchester United vs. Borussia Dortmund tie.

These results have completely reshuffled the tournament favorites, with many bookmakers now installing Liverpool as the new frontrunners following the elimination of City, Real Madrid, and PSG.
