Camilo Duran Double Keeps Celtic's Domestic Start Perfect

Camilo Duran scored both Celtic goals in a 2-1 Scottish Premiership victory over Falkirk at Celtic Park on Saturday, keeping his club's domestic record perfect at the start of the season. The Press Association report published by the Guardian said the Colombian delivered twice inside the opening 29 minutes while playing in his preferred centre-forward role.

Duran also created chances for teammates as Celtic controlled the first half, but Falkirk improved after the interval. The visitors were rewarded in the 72nd minute when Colby Donovan scored an own goal, reducing Celtic's lead to one. Celtic held on to take all three points despite the stronger second-half response.

The match followed Celtic's midweek elimination from Champions League qualifying. According to the Guardian's report, some supporters displayed banners before the game criticizing the board after the club surrendered a four-goal aggregate advantage in a 5-1 defeat by LASK. The backing during the match remained strong, and Duran's goals ensured Celtic continued winning on the domestic front.

Hearts moved into second place with a 2-1 home win over St Johnstone. James Wilson opened the scoring early, before an own goal by Saints debutant Enes Alic doubled the hosts' advantage. Hearts, who had won a Conference League playoff away to Rapid Vienna during the week, faded after halftime and had to protect their lead once Ruari Paton pulled a goal back for St Johnstone.

Dundee United recorded the day's biggest victory by beating Kilmarnock 4-0 at Rugby Park. With manager Jim Goodwin in hospital dealing with what the club described as an ongoing medical matter, assistant Lee Sharp guided the team.
