Antoine Dupont Leads France to Grand Slam with 32-18 Victory Over Ireland in Six Nations Finale
The brilliant scrum-half scored two tries and orchestrated France's attacking display to complete a perfect Six Nations campaign at the Stade de France.

Antoine Dupont produced another masterclass performance Tuesday evening, scoring two tries and controlling France's attacking rhythm to lead Les Bleus to a commanding 32-18 victory over Ireland at the Stade de France, completing a Grand Slam triumph in the 2026 Six Nations Championship.

The Toulouse scrum-half was simply unstoppable throughout the contest, using his pace and vision to unlock Ireland's defense on multiple occasions. Dupont's first try came from a brilliant individual effort in the 23rd minute, when he sniped around a ruck and accelerated through a gap to score under the posts. His second try early in the second half effectively sealed the victory.

"To complete the Grand Slam at home with this team is an incredible feeling," Dupont said after being presented with the Championship trophy. "We've worked so hard to build this attacking style, and the players around me make my job easy. This group has something special, and we're just getting started."

France controlled the match from the opening whistle, with their back line looking razor-sharp and their forward pack providing the perfect platform. Romain Ntamack pulled the strings brilliantly at fly-half, while Damian Penaud scored a spectacular try in the corner that showcased France's handling skills and pace out wide.

Ireland fought valiantly throughout the contest, with Johnny Sexton kicking beautifully and their pack competing fiercely at the breakdown. However, they struggled to contain France's pace and creativity, particularly when Dupont was directing traffic around the ruck areas where his decision-making proved to be the difference.

The victory capped off a perfect Six Nations campaign for France, who scored 203 points across their five matches while playing an exciting brand of rugby that has captured the imagination of fans worldwide. Their combination of forward power and backline flair makes them clear favorites heading into the upcoming World Cup.

For Ireland, the defeat was disappointing after such a promising start to the tournament, but Andy Farrell's side showed enough quality to suggest they remain genuine contenders for future championships. The rivalry between these two nations continues to produce rugby of the highest quality, and Tuesday's encounter was no exception.
