Browns and Steelers wins leave every AFC North team at 2-1

The Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers secured narrow victories on Sunday as the AFC North ended the day's NFL action with all four teams on 2-1 records. According to BBC Sport's Week Three report, Cleveland beat the Carolina Panthers 21-18, Pittsburgh defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 30-27 and the Baltimore Ravens overcame the Dallas Cowboys 34-31 in Brazil.

Deshaun Watson delivered the decisive play in Cleveland's home opener, moving out of the pocket before finding tight end Harold Fannin Jr for a 14-yard touchdown. The pass completed a 65-yard drive that put the Browns on course for victory. It was Watson's second successive comeback win, following Cleveland's success away to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers the previous week.

Watson, 31, said afterwards that his focus was on moving forward following the team's difficulties and building on the result. Cleveland now have another home game on Thursday against Pittsburgh, giving the Browns an immediate opportunity to follow their win over Carolina with a victory against a divisional opponent.

The Steelers enter that meeting after a more productive offensive performance against Cincinnati. Pittsburgh had managed just one offensive touchdown across their first two games, but Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes against the Bengals. The closing defensive contribution came from Derrick Harmon, whose strip-sack of Joe Burrow secured the three-point home win and brought Pittsburgh level with Cincinnati in the standings.

Baltimore's route to the same record involved a late turnaround at the Maracana in Rio de Janeiro. Two Derrick Henry touchdowns helped the Ravens establish a 24-13 third-quarter advantage against Dallas. The Cowboys responded, and the lead switched twice during the fourth quarter before a Dallas field goal tied the game with seven seconds remaining.

That still left time for Lamar Jackson to complete a 27-yard pass and set up Tyler Loop's winning 56-yard field goal as the clock expired. Baltimore's victory completed a Sunday of tight margins for the division: its three games were each decided by three points. Cleveland and Pittsburgh will next meet with identical records after their respective wins.
