Brighton Agree Deal Worth Up to £15m for Femi Azeez
Brighton have agreed a deal with Millwall for Nigeria winger Femi Azeez. The Championship club are set to receive an initial £12.5m, with add-ons potentially taking the fee beyond £15m.

Brighton have agreed a deal to sign Nigeria winger Femi Azeez from Championship club Millwall, according to BBC Sport. The agreement is reported to be worth an initial £12.5 million, with performance-related add-ons capable of taking the total beyond £15 million. The transfer has been agreed between the clubs, but the report did not describe Azeez as having completed the move.

Watch the highlights:

The 25-year-old arrives on the back of a productive season in the Championship. Azeez scored 11 goals and supplied eight assists across 37 appearances last term, form that earned him selection in the PFA Championship team of the year. He has also represented Nigeria and had been seeking an opportunity to move into the Premier League.

BBC Sport reported that Brighton had pursued Azeez for several weeks before reaching the agreement. Millwall rejected at least three earlier bids from the Seagulls, while manager Alex Neil omitted the winger from the Lions' three most recent matchday squads. Fellow Championship side Wrexham are also understood to have shown interest in the attacker.

If the transfer proceeds, the fee would make Azeez Millwall's record sale. The south London club signed him from Reading for approximately £1 million in 2024, and he is now entering the final two years of his Millwall contract. The agreed package therefore represents a substantial return on the club's investment after two seasons.

Azeez would become Brighton's 11th signing of the summer. The Seagulls' recruitment has also included a club-record £45 million deal for Tottenham centre-back Luka Vuskovic, illustrating the extent of their squad changes during the current window.

Brighton have funded part of that activity through significant outgoing business. BBC Sport cited Carlos Baleba's £70 million transfer to Manchester United among the club's major sales, while Liverpool have been linked with Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh. For now, the confirmed development concerning Azeez is the agreement with Millwall, with the winger positioned to step up from the Championship if the move is finalized.
