Bowen Double Sends West Ham Top After Bolton Comeback

Jarrod Bowen scored twice as West Ham came from behind to beat Bolton 3-2 and move to the top of the Championship on goal difference. The result was West Ham's first victory at Bolton in 31 years and extended Wanderers' losing run to four matches, according to a Press Association report published by The Guardian.

Bowen, the West Ham captain, opened the scoring in the 13th minute. Bolton responded through Ethan Erhahon, whose equaliser was his first goal for the club, before Ruben Rodrigues converted a penalty in the 27th minute to put the home side ahead. Konstantinos Mavropanos levelled four minutes later with a header.

The match remained tied until the 77th minute, when Bowen scored his second goal to complete West Ham's comeback. Bolton had entered the game with a run of eight successive league wins over the Hammers, but Bowen's late intervention ended that sequence and lifted last season's Premier League side to the division's summit.

Southampton also collected three points, beating Swansea 3-1 at St Mary's. Cyle Larin scored his fifth goal of the season, while Finn Azaz and Leo Scienza also found the net. The win extended Southampton's unbeaten home run to 13 matches and marked the second consecutive home game in which they had defeated the Championship leaders.

Watford overcame a difficult first half to defeat Preston 2-1. Callum Lang put Preston ahead in the sixth minute, but the hosts turned the game around after the break through goals from Edo Kayembe and Mamadou Doumbia in a seven-minute spell. Preston have now lost five of their past six league matches.

Elsewhere, Wrexham were held to a 1-1 home draw by winless Burnley. Zeki Amdouni scored for Burnley before Jacques Ekomie equalised with his second goal for Wrexham. Sheffield United won 2-1 at Blackburn after Tom Cannon and Sydie Peck overturned Kristi Montgomery's opener, while Cardiff and Stoke drew 1-1. Ben Johnson gave Stoke the lead, and Joel Colwill headed Cardiff level in the second half.
