Jayson Tatum delivered a clutch performance with 34 points and 12 rebounds, leading the Boston Celtics to a 112-108 overtime victory over the New York Knicks on Friday night at Madison Square Garden. The win gives Boston a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-seven series, with Game 4 scheduled for Sunday afternoon.

The Celtics' All-Star forward was instrumental in the extra period, scoring six of Boston's 10 overtime points. Jaylen Brown added 26 points and 8 rebounds, while veteran guard Jrue Holiday contributed 18 points and 9 assists in the hard-fought victory.

"Jayson was incredible tonight," Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla said after the game. "He made plays when we needed them most. That's what All-NBA players do in playoff situations."

The Knicks mounted a furious comeback in the fourth quarter, erasing a 9-point deficit with less than five minutes remaining. Jalen Brunson led New York with 31 points and 11 assists, while Julius Randle added 24 points and 10 rebounds in the losing effort.

"We fought hard tonight, but we came up short," Brunson said. "We need to be better in the clutch moments. That's the difference in these games."

The game featured 15 lead changes and 9 ties, showcasing the intensity of this rivalry matchup. Boston shot 47% from the field and 38% from three-point range, while New York struggled with 42% shooting overall.

Game 4 tips off Sunday at 1:00 PM ET at Madison Square Garden, where the Knicks will look to even the series before it shifts back to Boston for Game 5.
