Bijan Robinson leads Falcons to 35-14 win over Packers at Lambeau Field

Atlanta beat Green Bay 35-14 at Lambeau Field on Thursday, with Bijan Robinson running for 194 yards and two touchdowns as the Falcons secured their first victory of the NFL season. According to BBC Sport, the Packers faced boos from their own supporters during a defeat that left both teams with 1-2 records.

The result marked a sharp turnaround for Atlanta, whose offence had struggled through two losses to begin the campaign. The Falcons had been beaten 34-3 at home by Carolina on Sunday. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr returned from knee surgery to help Atlanta respond, while Drake London finished with 194 receiving yards on nine catches. Robinson also contributed 19 yards as a receiver.

Green Bay struck first through a Christian Watson touchdown, but Atlanta answered with 27 consecutive points to take control. Bijan Robinson, Austin Hooper and Brian Robinson Jr all scored touchdowns during that stretch, with Nick Folk adding two field goals. Matthew Golden later scored a touchdown for the Packers before Bijan Robinson reached the end zone again late in the game to complete the visitors' scoring.

The contrast between the teams was particularly pronounced on the ground. Atlanta accumulated 242 rushing yards as part of a 498-yard offensive total. Green Bay managed 328 yards overall, but only 17 of those came from its nine rushing attempts. Robinson's individual rushing total alone was therefore far greater than the Packers' combined output on the ground.

Green Bay entered the game without defensive star Micah Parsons and running back Josh Jacobs. Its offensive line had also suffered two injuries in the previous week's victory at the New York Jets. Head coach Matt LaFleur nevertheless declined to attribute Thursday's defeat to a single factor, saying, in comments reported by BBC Sport, that his team had been comprehensively beaten and needed to respond better.

The defeat follows Green Bay's win over the Jets, while Atlanta has now ended its opening losing run. The Packers next visit Tampa Bay on Sunday, with the Falcons travelling to divisional opponents New Orleans on the following Monday.
