Ben Allison took 11 wickets as Worcestershire beat Derbyshire by 175 runs at New Road, completing their County Championship Division Two victory inside three days. His second-innings figures of 6-42 were a first-class career best, according to the ECB Reporters' Network report published by BBC Sport. The seamer finished with match figures of 11-64, taking 10 wickets in a first-class match for the first time.

Worcestershire made 214 and 206, while Derbyshire were dismissed for 88 and 157. Matthew Waite's unbeaten 74 in the hosts' second innings helped set up a target of 333. Mohammad Abbas took 5-63 and 4-65 for Derbyshire, but his nine wickets could not prevent defeat. Worcestershire collected 19 points from the match, with Derbyshire taking three.

The third day began with Worcestershire adding only three runs to their overnight score before Nick Potts dismissed Ben Gibbon. Allison then made two breakthroughs in a maiden over at the start of Derbyshire's chase. Harry Came edged to Rehaan Edavalath at second slip, and Matthew Montgomery was trapped lbw for a duck two balls later.

Allison also removed Wayne Madsen and Yousaf Bin Naeem as Derbyshire fell to 32-4. Gibbon dismissed Martin Andersson before Allison took Brooke Guest's wicket to complete his second five-wicket haul of the match and his third of the season. At 39-6, Derbyshire were left relying on their lower order to prolong the contest after another collapse against the Worcestershire attack.

Luis Reece and Amrit Basra supplied the main resistance, taking Derbyshire to lunch at 75-6 and extending their seventh-wicket partnership beyond 50. Reece scored 49 from 67 balls before playing on to Allison, falling one run short of a half-century. Basra contributed 40 before Gibbon bowled him, ending another of the innings' significant contributions.

Gibbon had Shoaib Bashir caught at slip with his next delivery and later dismissed Potts for 29 to finish the match. He returned season-best figures of 4-28, sharing all 10 second-innings wickets with Allison. The result followed Allison's 5-22 in Derbyshire's first innings, when Madsen's 40 was the highest score in their total of 88.
