Banks' 98-yard interception return seals Giants win over Cardinals
Deonte Banks returned a last-play interception for a touchdown as New York beat Arizona 36-24. Jameis Winston threw three touchdown passes as the Giants improved to 3-1.

Deonte Banks returned an interception 98 yards for a touchdown on the final play as the New York Giants defeated the Arizona Cardinals 36-24 at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. The Giants improved to 3-1 and remained unbeaten at home, with the team's official report confirming they finished the fourth week atop the NFC East.

Watch the highlights:

Arizona still had a chance to overturn a six-point deficit after a pass-interference penalty gave it first-and-goal at the New York four-yard line with 22 seconds remaining. According to the Cardinals' account, Jacoby Brissett could not connect on three successive attempts before Banks intercepted the fourth-down pass and carried it back for the decisive score.

Jameis Winston supplied three touchdown passes in his second consecutive start for the injured Jaxson Dart. Field Level Media reported that Winston completed 18 of 29 throws for 250 yards despite two interceptions and four sacks. He connected with Malachi Fields and Malik Nabers for second-quarter touchdowns as New York recovered from an early 14-3 deficit.

The Giants took a 19-17 advantage into halftime after Arizona kicker Chad Ryland made a 60-yard field goal as the half ended. Brissett then found Elijah Higgins for a two-yard touchdown midway through the third quarter, restoring the Cardinals' lead at 24-19. Arizona did not score again, according to Field Level Media's game report.

A defensive holding penalty against Dante Stills gave New York another opportunity after Arizona had appeared to limit the Giants to a field goal. The Cardinals' report identified that sequence as a turning point. Winston subsequently found Theo Johnson for an 11-yard touchdown, and the successful two-point conversion put New York ahead 27-24.

Dominic Zvada added a 52-yard field goal before the Giants' final defensive stand. The rookie finished with three field goals, while linebacker Arvell Reese recorded his first career interception, the Giants reported. New York's three victories have all come at home. Arizona fell to 1-3, with Brissett finishing with two touchdown passes and three interceptions as another late opportunity ended without a winning score.
