Aaron Judge Homers Twice in Yankees Spring Training Win, Looks Ready for Opening Day
The Yankees captain continues his impressive spring preparation with a dominant performance against the Phillies.

Aaron Judge put on a power display that has Yankees fans counting down the days to Opening Day, launching two massive home runs in a 9-5 spring training victory over the Philadelphia Phillies at George M. Steinbrenner Field. The Yankees captain went 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs, showcasing the form that made him the American League MVP just two seasons ago.

Judge's first home run came in the third inning, a towering 445-foot blast to left-center field off Phillies starter Aaron Nola that had teammates and coaches shaking their heads in amazement. The second homer, a 425-footer in the sixth inning, capped off what Yankees manager Aaron Boone called "exactly the kind of at-bats we want to see from our leader as we head into the season."

The 31-year-old outfielder has been one of the standout performers throughout spring training, hitting .389 with 6 home runs and 14 RBIs across 15 Grapefruit League games. His preparation has been meticulous, working closely with hitting coach Dillon Lawson on maintaining his powerful swing while improving his approach against left-handed pitching.

"I feel really good right now," Judge said after the game. "The work I put in during the offseason is paying off, and I'm seeing the ball well. The goal is always to be ready for Game 1, and I feel like I'm in a good spot physically and mentally. This team has championship aspirations, and I want to make sure I'm doing everything I can to help us get there."

The Yankees have been impressive throughout spring training, posting a 16-8 record that leads the Grapefruit League standings. The combination of veteran leadership from players like Judge and emerging talent from their farm system has created an optimistic atmosphere as the team prepares for what many believe could be a special season.

With just over two weeks remaining until Opening Day against the Houston Astros, Judge's hot spring has Yankees fans dreaming of another deep playoff run. His health and production will be crucial to the team's success, and Wednesday's performance provided another encouraging sign that the franchise cornerstone is ready to lead New York back to World Series contention.
