Australia rest Test pace trio as fresh faces earn England squad places
Australia have named their ODI and T20 squads for England, resting three senior fast bowlers and giving uncapped wicketkeepers a chance.

Australia have left Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood out of their squads for the home white-ball series against England, with Mitchell Marsh named captain in both formats. The ICC reported that the experienced fast bowlers will prepare for Test assignments against New Zealand and India while a reshaped group contests three ODIs and five T20 internationals.

Watch the highlights:

The announcement creates opportunities for several players who have recently entered Australia's international setup. Mahli Beardman and Oliver Peake are in the 14-player ODI squad, alongside all-rounders Jack Edwards and Liam Scott. According to the ICC, selection chair George Bailey highlighted Scott's development through successive opportunities and praised Beardman's recent Australia A performances, identifying him as a potential option across all formats.

The T20 selections include uncapped wicketkeepers Lachlan Shaw and Sam Harper. Cricket.com.au reported that Josh Inglis's absence from that squad gives the pair a chance to make their international debuts. Shaw has captained New South Wales in domestic one-day cricket and led its Sheffield Shield side when Nic Maddinson was absent. Harper was added to the recent Test squad in South Africa but did not play.

Australia have also recalled Jake Fraser-McGurk and Mitch Owen to the T20 side. Bailey said their hitting ability could strengthen the shorter-format teams, according to the ICC's report. Nikhil Chaudhary and Joel Davies are also selected. Nathan Ellis, meanwhile, remains unavailable for the ODIs as he recovers from a side strain sustained against South Africa in September, but is included for the T20 series.

The split between formats extends beyond the pace attack. Cricket.com.au reported that Travis Head, Matthew Renshaw, Cameron Green, Alex Carey, Inglis and Cooper Connolly are all selected for the ODIs but will miss the T20 leg. Australia then begin a four-Test series against New Zealand in Perth on December 9, followed by five Tests in India and the anniversary Test against England in Melbourne in March.

The England series opens in Perth on November 13, with further ODIs in Adelaide and Hobart. The T20 matches start in Melbourne on November 21 and finish in Canberra on December 2.
