Andy Murray Confirms Coaching Ambitions as Former World Number One Eyes Post-Playing Career
Andy Murray has revealed he would consider a return to coaching after retiring from professional tennis, with the 37-year-old Scot confirming he has already received approaches about potential roles.

Andy Murray has confirmed his interest in pursuing a coaching career once his illustrious playing career concludes, stating he has already received approaches about potential opportunities in the sport he has dominated for nearly two decades.

Watch the highlights:

In an exclusive interview, the former world number one explained: 'I've had a few conversations about coaching. I wouldn't say no to it at some point. I still love tennis, I still watch a lot of it, and I think I have something to offer the next generation.'

Murray, who has won three Grand Slam titles including two Wimbledon Championships, has maintained his competitive edge despite battling injuries throughout his career. The 37-year-old currently sits at number 42 in the ATP rankings, still capable of competing at the highest level while beginning to consider life after professional tennis.

'Coaching is something I've thought about,' Murray continued. 'Not yet, I'm still playing and want to keep going as long as I'm competitive. But when the time comes, I definitely wouldn't rule it out. Whether I could coach at the highest level, I don't know, but I'd like to try.'

The Scottish tennis legend has been credited with mentoring younger players throughout his career, with Britain's current generation of talent often citing Murray as an influence. His analytical approach to the game and tactical acumen have long been recognized as strengths that could translate successfully to coaching.

Murray's announcement comes as he prepares for the upcoming grass-court season, with Wimbledon representing a primary target for the remainder of his career. Despite acknowledging his advancing age, the two-time Olympic gold medalist maintains he can still compete effectively at the sport's highest level.

Former players and coaches have responded positively to Murray's revelation, with many suggesting his experience and competitive intelligence would make him a valuable asset to any player or team. The tennis world appears eager to see what the Murray legacy might become once he finally hangs up his racket.
