Amaechi's stoppage-time winner sends Plymouth clear at top of League One
Xavier Amaechi struck in added time as Plymouth came from behind to beat Wimbledon 2-1. Bradford's goalless draw left them two points behind the leaders.

Plymouth moved clear at the top of League One after substitute Xavier Amaechi scored deep into stoppage time to secure a 2-1 comeback victory over Wimbledon. According to the Guardian's league roundup, Amaechi struck in the fifth minute of added time, while Bradford's goalless draw with Leyton Orient left them two points behind the leaders.

Watch the highlights:

Jayden Stockley had given Wimbledon the lead in the 16th minute, but Caleb Watts brought Plymouth level before half-time. The teams remained tied until Amaechi's late intervention turned a potential draw into a victory. Bradford, meanwhile, were unable to find a breakthrough against Orient at Valley Parade, allowing Plymouth to establish a gap at the summit.

Huddersfield also lost ground in the race near the top after Sheffield Wednesday recovered with two late goals to draw 2-2 at the Accu Stadium. Jamal Lowe converted a penalty deep into stoppage time, denying Huddersfield the chance to move into second place. Stockport finished the round in third after Kyle Wootton scored twice in a 3-1 comeback win over Barnsley at Edgeley Park.

Elsewhere, Mark Harris and Cameron Brannagan scored in Oxford's 2-1 victory over Notts County at Meadow Lane. Fifth-placed Cambridge beat 10-man Blackpool 1-0 through a late Gassan Ahadme goal. Kick-off at the Abbey Stadium had been delayed by 15 minutes because of problems affecting supporters entering the ground. Reading moved into sixth following a 5-1 away victory over MK Dons.

Luton were another convincing away winner, beating Wycombe 4-1 on the day the hosts announced Tom Hounsell as permanent head coach. Kasey Palmer, Nahki Wells, Jamie Donley and Devante Cole scored for the visitors. Peterborough also won away, defeating Leicester 3-1 in Robbie Savage's first League One match in charge of the club.

At the other end of the table, Leon Ayinde scored his first EFL goal to give Doncaster a 1-0 home victory over Burton and lift them out of the bottom four. Mansfield ended a four-match winless run by beating Bromley 2-1 in the clubs' first meeting. Wigan remained bottom after losing 1-0 at Stevenage.
