Adam Hose signs Worcestershire contract extension through 2029
Adam Hose has signed a new three-year Worcestershire deal through 2029 after returning from an ankle injury and taking over as T20 captain.

Adam Hose has agreed a new three-year contract with Worcestershire, keeping the batter at the county through the end of the 2029 season. BBC Sport reported the agreement on Sunday, with the 34-year-old extending his stay after a season in which he returned from injury and took on the captaincy of the T20 side.

Watch the highlights:

Hose joined Worcestershire from Warwickshire ahead of the 2023 campaign. He has since made 96 appearances across all formats for the Pears, including 46 first-class matches in which he has accumulated more than 2,400 runs. His appointment as T20 captain came midway through this year's competition, adding a leadership role to his responsibilities with the bat.

The extension follows a 2026 County Championship season that brought Hose 638 runs, including a century and five further scores above 50. Worcestershire finished fifth in Division Two. Those contributions came after a six-month recovery from a serious ankle injury sustained while playing in The Hundred in August 2025, a setback that interrupted his cricket before this year's return.

Speaking to Worcestershire's website in comments carried by the BBC, Hose described the agreement as straightforward to arrange. He said the county should aim to return to Division One by this time next year. He also pointed to the team's narrow failure to reach a white-ball quarter-final this season and expressed his belief that Worcestershire should be competing for all three trophies.

Head coach Alan Richardson welcomed the deal and praised Hose's growing importance within the squad. In comments reported by the BBC, Richardson highlighted the batter's dependability and the resilience he had shown while dealing with injuries over a difficult couple of years. His assessment focused on both Hose's contribution to the team and the character demonstrated during his recovery.

Hose is the second Worcestershire player to agree a contract extension this month. Wicketkeeper-batter Gareth Roderick has already committed until 2028, while Hose's new agreement runs a year beyond that. For Worcestershire, the latest deal retains a player who combines first-class run-scoring experience with responsibility for leading the T20 team.
