Abhishek Sharma struck 113 from 38 balls as India beat New Zealand by six wickets in the third Twenty20 international at Hnry Stadium in Wellington on Tuesday. According to BBC Sport's match scorecard, India reached 199 for four in 13.2 overs after choosing to field and restricting the hosts to 198 for three. The chase finished with 40 balls remaining.

Watch the highlights:

Sharma hit nine fours and 11 sixes, supplying more than half of India's total in an innings played at a strike rate of 297.37. His opening partner, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, contributed 45 from 19 deliveries, including four fours and four sixes. Together they took India to 133 before Sooryavanshi was caught by Daryl Mitchell off Matt Fisher at the start of the eighth over.

India were already 178 for two when Sharma was caught by Glenn Phillips off Kyle Jamieson from the final ball of the 10th over. Shreyas Iyer subsequently fell for five, while Sanju Samson made 18 before Jamieson bowled him with the first delivery of the 14th over. Naman Dhir then hit his only ball for four to complete the victory, with Tilak Varma unbeaten on one.

New Zealand's innings had been built around Mitchell, who finished unbeaten on 89 from 52 balls with five fours and five sixes. After Tim Seifert was dismissed for two, Finn Allen provided 40 from 25 deliveries, all five of his boundaries coming as sixes. Allen's dismissal left New Zealand 90 for two in the ninth over, before Phillips contributed 17 from 14 balls.

Bevon Jacobs added an unbeaten 39 from 23 deliveries after Phillips departed with the total at 123. Jacobs and Mitchell carried New Zealand through the remainder of their 20 overs without another wicket falling. Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel and Nitish Kumar Reddy each took one wicket for India; Arshdeep's four overs cost 33 runs, compared with 36 for Axar and 38 for Nitish.

Mitch Santner returned New Zealand's most economical bowling figures, conceding 17 runs in three overs and dismissing Iyer. Jamieson took two for 45 in 3.2 overs, while Fisher finished with one for 23 from his single over. Jacob Duffy, Adam Milne and Michael Bracewell went wicketless as India's opening assault left the hosts unable to defend their total.
