Tyler Reddick Captures Daytona 500 Victory in Michael Jordan-Owned Car
Tyler Reddick delivered a clutch performance in the final lap to win the Daytona 500, giving Michael Jordan his first major NASCAR victory as team owner.

In a finish befitting of the basketball legend who owns his team, Tyler Reddick pulled off a buzzer-beater move to win the 2026 Daytona 500, delivering Michael Jordan his first major NASCAR victory as a team owner.

The 23XI Racing driver made a dramatic last-lap surge through traffic to claim the checkered flag at Daytona International Speedway, capping off a chaotic race that saw multiple lead changes and several multi-car incidents throughout the afternoon.

Reddick, who has been driving for Jordan and Denny Hamlin's 23XI Racing team, showed the same clutch gene that made his boss famous on the basketball court. With less than a mile to go in NASCAR's most prestigious race, Reddick found himself in third place before making a bold move to the inside that propelled him past the leaders.

"Some things just went my way on that final lap," Reddick said in victory lane, still processing the magnitude of his achievement. "To win the Daytona 500 is every NASCAR driver's dream, but to do it for MJ and give him his first big win as an owner makes it even more special."

The victory marks a significant milestone for 23XI Racing, which was founded in 2020 when Jordan partnered with three-time Daytona 500 winner Denny Hamlin to enter NASCAR ownership. The team has steadily built its program over the past six years, and Sunday's triumph represents the breakthrough moment they've been working toward.

Jordan, who attended the race and was visibly emotional after Reddick's victory, has brought his competitive fire and championship mentality to NASCAR. His involvement has elevated the sport's profile and attracted new fans who remember his dominance in basketball during the 1990s.
